The Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Finance is a two-year, full-time programme designed to develop future financial leaders with strong analytical, strategic, and decision-making capabilities. Recommended by former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, the programme is structured along the lines of leading global institutions such as the London School of Economics, combining academic rigour with industry relevance.
The curriculum provides a strong foundation in financial principles and practices, integrating areas such as statistics, business strategy, and operations research. It goes beyond traditional finance education by incorporating insights from industry experts and experienced faculty, ensuring a balance between theory and real-world application.
The programme covers advanced topics including financial modelling, risk management, international finance, fintech, and big data, enabling students to understand both traditional financial theories and emerging trends. It emphasises the development of analytical tools and quantitative skills required for sound financial decision-making.
With Mumbai emerging as a global financial hub and the financial sector evolving rapidly, the programme is designed to create globally competitive finance professionals capable of addressing modern challenges such as financial innovation, regulatory changes, and risk management.
By combining scientific foundations (mathematics, statistics) with practical finance applications, the M.Sc. Finance programme prepares graduates for careers in investment banking, financial analysis, consulting, risk management, and global finance roles.
